BLC 17: My Fitness Plan

Monday, January 21, 2013

Currently, I am using my rebounder (mini-trampoline) for 35-45 minutes per day, 7 days per week. However, I would like to get back in to both Zumba and jogging regularly. Unfortunately, I currently have bronchitis and any intense workout leaves me in a coughing fit, unable to breathe. I also want to improve my pushups and crunches (I have a bad back and cannot do situps), so I need to work them in, as well!

So, my plan (subject to revision, of course) is...

Weeks 1-2: Continue with rebounding 35-45 minutes, 7 days per week.
Pushups: Attempt 1 set of 5 reps, normal pushups. Possibly have to revert back to pushups on knees. 4 times per week.
Crunches: 3 sets of 50 reps. 4 times per week.

Weeks 3-4: Rebounding 35-45 minutes 4 times per week; Zumba 3 times per week for 45 minutes.
Pushups: 2 sets of 5 reps, normal pushups. 4 times per week.
Crunches: 4 sets of 50 reps. 4 times per week.

Weeks 5-6: Rebounding 35-45 minutes 4 times per week; Zumba 3 times per week for 45 minutes. Jog 1 mile, 2 days per week.
Pushups: 3 sets of 5 reps, normal pushups. 4 times per week.
Crunches: 4 sets of 60 reps. 4 times per week.

Weeks 7-8: Rebounding 35-45 minutes 4 times per week; Zumba 3 time per week for 45 minutes. Jog 1 mile, 3 days per week.
Pushups: 4 sets of 5 reps, normal pushups. 4 times per week.
Crunches: 4 sets of 75 reps. 4 times per week.

Great plan! emoticon Push up's are one of the hardest things for me also. I have no upper body strength. But I'm working on it also! Good luck!

OMG the mini trampoline sounds fun! Definitely understand your pain with the bronchitis- I had a horrible case the week of Sandy (my job is in lower Manhattan so the office was shut down for about a week) and I've been sick on and off since then. Hope you get better!!!!

Sounds awesome! Push ups are impossible for me at this point so if you can even do one that is like super hero awesome.

  Hope you feel better!

The workout plan sounds intense.

Can I ask what workouts you do on the rebounder? I bought one as a gift to myself a couple of weeks ago but realized the max weight limit is 300 lbs -- so I'll hopefully be able to use it starting in a couple of weeks.
