Prayers for a Special Boy

Monday, January 21, 2013

Hi Spark friends!

I have not had time to blog for awhile but I need to sit and ask all of you for special prayers for a young boy I just met yesterday!

I was sitting in church and in front of me was a family - a mother and her child, and the parents of the mother. I noticed the boy had some type of illness and the mother sad with him most of the time. The mother was shedding tears and the young bou would wipe them away and smile. This touched my heart so much because I have shed many tears in church and else where for my son, so I identified with this mother. During the time in church where we give each other a sign of peace, I hug the mother and we connected. I told her I would pray for her and her son not knowing what was going on (not that it mattered).
As the service continued the grandmother turned to her grandson and then she turned away sobbing. I laid my hands on her shoulders to offer comfort. She turned to me, I told her I would pray for him. She then told me his name is James and the mom is Theresa. Then she told me that he was dying from a brain tumor and that he was told. The young boy wanted to go up and get a blessing from the priest.
Needless to say I also cried with this family that I had just met. After mass I hugged them all and they introduced me to James, a 15 year old with the biggest smile you could ever imagine. I spoke to him for awhile and he was so excited and so polite. I left them as they headed out for donuts and coffee, but I told them I would pray for him and especially this mother as she prepares for the worst.
My heart goes out to her and again I ask for all your prayers to help them in difficult time.
If I see them again I will let you know, but I just felt I was chosen to be there for a reason. I never sit in that part of the church and on this day I did!!!
Thank you all for your prayers for this boy.

Oh my...I do feel for that family, but I've offered up a plea for healing for the child. Bless you for your good heart, my friend. Has your son headed back to college?

Father God, I come to you now in deep prayer for James and his family. You are a loving God, as well as Sovereign. Please, give them faith and your peace that passes all understanding. Continue to put your loving arms around them, as well as continue to surround them with believers who can strength and encourage them. I pray all of this in Jesus Christ's mighty name. AMEN!!
