Weekend Warrior... or not.

Saturday was sunny but bitterly cold and super windy. As in if I'd had a kite I could have been some where warmer cheaply, not including hospital costs. We walked the pups and then took them for their monthly bath. I love having clean puppies and wish I could have them more often than that. Sigh.

Saturday night, I went to game night with some friends. It was a lot of sitting and a lot of eating but I did OK with the food. (It was icky for the most part.) It was all the yummy desserts that kicked my tail. I purposefully spaced my goodies out and chose to have one of each. One PNB cookie, one spice cookie and one tiny brownie with walnuts. Serious yum. Since I hadn't eaten much earlier in the day, that fit right into the goals. Ha!

We played a game called 5 Second rule. Weird.

I hated it. My life is stressful enough without being put in the hot seat for games. LOL Here's how it works (quick version): you pull a card and ask the person whose turn it is, "in 5 seconds name three... " and then list something. Like, name 3 scary movies; list Elizabeth Taylor movies; on and on... ick. I was horrible at it. My favorite question??? Name three bridges. I said, "Jeff, Beau and Lloyd." The whole table froze and then busted out laughing. That was the only fun for me. Trying to twist the questions. Wait, what does that say about me???? Oh well...

Let's look at the numbers:

I would like to start a Sunday Supper club. My family always had big Sunday dinners (1pm) and I miss them terribly. It's not just the yummy food but a table filled with people smiling, laughing and talking is my dream. Shouldn't that be easy to make come true?

Walking at the mall today. It's snowing and very, very cold!

    I also love Sunday dinner. Need to get that going again, but my son likes to go to church Sunday night for youth ministry so we don't get a good sit down dinner.

    I miss the big family dinners too. We always used to have them at my grandparents farm when I was little. Sadly, after my grandfather died we just didn't do it so much anymore. I really hope you can pull a plan together and start your own tradition of Sunday Suppers.

Just curious, why aren't you counting the walking as cardio? Are you looking for additional cardio beyond the walking?
