Happy MLK Day and Inaugeration!

My usual viewing of The Today Show has been pre-empted by the inaugeration ceremony. Is it really true that Fox News will go off the air at 11:30 because of it? That's so crazy! But to be honest, if you want to see this ceremony, it is available to see. It looks chilly in DC and may snow. Brrr! My dad claims Obama is a Muslim, but he just went to a Christian Church today and is being sworn in on two Christian Bibles. Not very faithful to his faith if he's a Muslim! I am a fan of Obama, and I hope he can do something significant in his second term.

I saw Warren Buffet on TV yesterday and he was so optimistic. He says that the 500+ members of congress can't bring down the millions of Americans. I believe there is enough for everyone in the USA and our country is rich in resources. I have a hard time believing that shortages are anything more than political maneuvers.

ANYWAY...back to health and fitness. I have been doing terribly on my eating even though much of what I have eaten is nutritious and appropriate. It's the volume of food that is a problem! Nevertheless, I did get in an hour on my Wii Fit yesterday. Not only did I do my usual things, I did more strength training and the advanced step aerobics twice or maybe 3 times. I also did a few of the yoga moves that I only do now and then. I want to build muscle as well as lose fat.

No matter what your political affiliation, we are all Americans and we want what's best for our country and our lives. Let's don't deny ourselves a healthy body. The pursuit of happiness begins with ourselves.

March in place to honor Dr. King today! Or go on a march around your neighborhood!

    Great job with the Wii Fit! I empathize with you on overeating on nutritious, whole foods. This past month I've been eating whole, nourishing foods 98% of the time, but I just eat too much of it! Portion control has always been a struggle of mine. I get envious of people that just switch from fast food to whole foods and can lose weight. But since I don't eat fast food nor eat out at restaurants, I can get discouraged at times. Really, the only solution for me and perhaps in your case is to track, track, track in a food journal. Wishing you the best of luck :)

    When are people going to realize that President Obama is NOT a Muslim, was born in Hawaii, and wants what is best for ALL Americans. We need to stop wasting time and get on with the business of what is good for America. One of the newscasters said yesterday that our government resembled a DayCare center in their inability to get along for the greater good.
