Last night I was hit by a cookie craving. I have been doing so great with my eating - I am even having trouble meeting the calorie range set for my BMR! If I eat all the fruits and veggies I am supposed to in a day, I don't have room for any of the sugary stuff. Honestly, I haven't been craving it or even tempted by any cookies or candy....until NOW.
I blame the hormones - yep, Aunt Flo is here for her monthly visit (TMI?) and with her comes the chocolate craving. Now, ninety-nine percent of the time I can ignore chocolate. It just really has no hold over me except this one time of the month.
What is a girl to do when this kind of unrelenting craving hits? Here are my inner struggles as they played out in my head....
(little red dude) hey, wouldn't a chocolate chip cookie taste really good right now? The kitchen is only a few steps away....you could go heat up the oven and pop in some frozen cookie dough and viola', cookies!
(little spark angel) NO! don't listen to him, you have been doing so great with your eating, why would you want to sabbotage yourself now?
(little red dude) warm chocolately chip goodness....nom nom nom....
(little spark angel) Say, why not go to the gym? It will get you out of the house and away from temptation.
Both of these internal struggles were going on simultaneously and guess which one won?
Drumroll please......THe Spark Angel! Believe me, no one is more surprised than I am! I just figured that getting away from the temptation for a while might help, plus I will get a workout in so even if I do endulge in a cookie later, at least I have paid it forward by pre-working off the calories!
