I just want to follow up with you guys that are interested... I made a commitment to Decide on something and JUST DO IT... I said that I'd lay out my training plan for my upcoming relay. I have plenty of time, but I don't want to put it off. It's a good thing that I did it NOW because I'm STOKED about my plan, it fits perfectly into the next 16 weeks!!
I'm in a 'rebuilding' phase. I've been much too inactive lately and my base mileage is just down to nuttin!! I'm ready to shed these extra pounds and get back my running legs!! I have an 8 week "novice" 10k plan that I'm going to use to allow intervals to build me back up to 6 miles, and then a 8 week "intermediate" plan that will reinforce my previous 8 weeks of training. If all goes well, I'll be running that relay leg in good form! That's the PLAN.
The other part of my commitment was to actually do a planned training run outside on the road on a Sunday. WHOA!! LOL! That used to be a given that I'd be out there running on a Sunday. I haven't ran a weekend run since early September. (before my last event. turns out I'm VERY 'event' driven!! LOL) Today, I did it. I got dressed and went out. I had a nice quality run with my audiobook and feel OH so accomplished for it.
It feels FANTASTIC to be getting back on track!!
