I am looking for opinions from my SPARKFRIENDS on Marathon advice....
Let me start by saying I am a very SLOW run/walker My current pace is 13mm using 2:1 intervals. I have a good base right now after doing 3 half's in 5 weeks in Nov and would like to train for my first FULL
I am trying to decide between a FLAT/FAST course of Chicago 10.13.13 with a 6.5 hr time limit,
which is a 15mm pace
Portland Marathon 10.06.13 a walker friendly course with 150 ft elevation gains with a time limit of 8 hours 18mm, actually it has an alternate course for those out there longer than 6.5hrs.
I am hoping to improve my pace before October, but know I am facing new challenges with increased mileage.
My goal is simply to complete the race!!!!! Trying to make a decision and looking for experienced runners opinions!
