I have many reasons to lose weight and get healthy such as I want to lower my blood pressure, I want to 'fix' my fibroids, I want to be healthy overall, I want to look better physically. But I never really thought about my teeth. I have been eating hard candy this past year because it is a low calorie food that tastes sweet and doesn't trigger me. But I went to the dentist last month and he says I have a few spots which could form cavities if I am not careful. Well, there goes my hard candy! Apparently I now need to take my teeth into consideration when deciding what to allow myself to eat on my diet. I am really not supposed to eat hard candy anyway as it is a highly refined source of sugar. SO, guess I have to rethink my diet yet again. I do want healthy teeth along with everything else. Plus I am hoping that my diet will improve my overall health and hopefully that includes healthy teeth and not so issues with gingivitis! We will see. Hope next visit is more positive.
Also my husband just had a positive result from the doctor. His cholesterol levels are now in the normal range! He has been on 'medication' for it for 2 years now with little improvement, but since we started our whole foods, plant based diet about 6 months ago, all of a sudden he is seeing normal levels. Go Forks over Knives!! (I encourage anybody to watch that documentary)
