I Wish I Would Have Encouragement Outside of Sparkpeople

Sunday, January 20, 2013

I think people look at me and say why are you counting your calories? Why are you watching what you eat? They say I am too young or I am already skinny, and they judge. I am not dieting. I am changing my lifestyle! I am being healthy! Do I deserve to be judged for that?

Why can't I start a healthy lifestyle while I am still young?
I just don't understand why when I tell people of my plan of becoming healthy they judge me instead of encouraging me?

Im just I have Sparkpeople, who gives me Spark Friends who encourage me! emoticon emoticon

MILPAM3 is right - just patiently explain it's not for weightloss, it's for being healthy. And if they continue to make a fuss about it, say it's my decision and I'm going to do it. Developing the healthy lifestyle now has so many benefits later on. :D

You're just having a mind battle. Perhaps they want to learn from you --- a young person! It isn't only the oldsters who have something to teach. Be patient and give them the answers they are seeking, just like you did in this blog. If they are indeed being judgmental, it could be jealousy. You have a cute figure; you have a healthy lifestyle; you have a handle on your "diet." That jealousy is their problem and it may "spark" them to make good changes. Keep being a good example. Have a positive attittude about that, as well as the care you are taking of your body.
When you take the time to share with others outside SparkPeople, you may find they are behind your good actions and will become your supporters, too.
