My New Incentive!!

Sunday, January 20, 2013

I've always had my eye on the Beetle Volkwagons ever since I was 16 and started driving. My Dad discouraged me from buying one because of the fact that he knew better how to work on American made vehicles more! Well, this went on and with marrying and moving back to MN, they didn't have the best heating system for the MN Winters, so that thought went out the window. Years went by and even with them getting better for MN, the thought of them was pretty well not even in the picture. And then now with them going back to the earlier-look Beetle, they've caught my eye all the more now and my husband knows how I've loved them all along too! So now with my new incentive....... My husband told me that he would buy me a 2012 to fulfill my dream! I'm the one that tied it in with reaching my goal weight of 145#!! I can hardly believe that this dream of a Volkswagon Beetle could come to be a reality along with the dream of reaching my beloved goal weight! Two of the biggest things that I've wanted for a long, long time!! I'm not getting any younger. Our kids are both grown up, we're down to just us and our dog, thank goodness for her! When we feel a little better about paying more off on our Hyndai Azera, then we will trade it off for the Beetle! Like this Fall, and I'll have reached my goal, right?! I'm sure counting on it! I know that I can't just slide along and put on a couple every now and then and then hover around and around a couple of numbers, like I've been doing, but I really have to get working hard for this! I'm hoping that once my Enbrel medicine kicks in for my RA, that I'll really be able to move and groove alot more! So come on all my SP buddies, you have to believe in me and I have to believe in myself and then I will getter done! I will do it! There's alot of days between now and this Fall, but I know that I'll have to really kick it with every day or all those months will be for naught! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon I CAN DO IT!!!

Your Buddy, Karen emoticon

Karen, you have that car in your future and the lost weight as well. I can feel it in my arthritic bones! YAY!

I would do a happy dance but my body doesn't want to move yet. The old bones are creaking today and it was a very late night last night, but I did get to see my Alaska Man and I am happy to have gotten to spend 10 hours with him. And we never were at a loss for what to say.

Of course, we both feel like poo today as we are not as young as we were 19 years ago, but it was fun and exciting to be with him again. He has really grown up to be a find gentleman.

You have so much to look forward to!! We have owned 3 VW diesels!! They are wonderful cars. Andy has always wanted the VW beetle diesel. They get around 50 mpg. I drove my car from Chicago to Kearney NE on one tank fuel. That was 789 miles. Also put over 400,000 miles on that wonderful Jetta.

You have set a wonderful goal. I know you will love that little beetle, they are excellent cars, especially if you think about the diesels. It gives you a tax break and wonderful fuel mileage. Just a thought.

My sister bought one and loves it says she will never own another car like that one. Cute and sporty.

To the weight loss, I know you can do it, you have come so far!! Now here is to the rest of the way. I'm right behind you.

My incentive if my trip to Asia this fall. I have started up again and have dropped 7 lbs. Now to get back to the gym (yuck) don't like the atmosphere, but do love exercising. So it by far weighs out the atmosphere.

Hope your new meds will kick in and you will have some relief from the pain!!

Love you and know you will reach your goals.

AWWW and Roger is so sweet to think of you and give you a wonderful gift!!! Tell him I said he is a sweetie to treat my dear friend so good!!!

    Awesome reward and motivating!

Hubby and I owned a '69 for a few years and we even did a trip from MN to the west coast in it. He drove it for a few years to/from work in MN winters...it was cold but it got around in the snow surprisingly well.

I do hope the enbrel starts working for you soon!! Interesting about the beetles -my Mom had a boyfriend that bought three of them used, for us three kids, he was going to fix them up and get them working. I said I do not need one as I don't drive and wasn't really interested in it either. One of them was a convertible -it had no roof at all and that is what my sister wanted!! If you thought MN winters cold, you haven't lived in Saskatchewan!! Anyway, the heater in there worked great -too great, you couldn't turn it off lol. So my sister drove it year round, her feet kept toasty warm by the heater, but the wind from driving in the cold was a little too much. I actually got to drive it once when my sister tried to give me lessons, but I just didn't take to it. So I still don't have a driver's license today and walk every where I need to get to. But I do love the VW's -they are the most reliable car out there -simple to fix and you still see the older ones out there, faithfully kept running. I am wishing you all the best in meeting this goal!

PS if your RA issues are in your legs or feet or knees or hips, then focus on ST your upper body -that keeps your metabolism burning longer. Sparks has lots of good videos on ST and also good chair exercises too.
