BLC #17 Official Starting Weigh-in Due Today!

Normally, this wouldn't warrant its own blog post, but since it's my "official" starting weigh-in and I had to up my ticker by 3+ lbs :( to accommodate that, I felt it deserved in a short blog post if for no other reason than catharsis.

You may recall my drama with home scale vs. gym scale, and how for official tracking I use the gym scale for consistency and accuracy. My home scale would be fine if I didn't live in an old house with uneven floors, and it's fine for rough estimations of my weight (i.e., am I generally losing?), but I can't use it for official tracking.

Well, back in December I cheated. Well, not cheat exactly... but I started tracking using the home scale instead to satisfy my need to see progress. I needed to know if I was doing things right because, frankly, the gym scale has two things about it that dampen my sense of progress. Number one, I'm fully clothed with shoes. Heh. Number two, I am always at the gym late in the day or even late at night, after a full day of water, meals, etc. So, I can see loss - but it's never as dramatic as my home scale gives me. I can lose 2-4 lbs some week on the home scale, but only see 0.5-1.5 on the gym scale. It sucks, and doesn't help my naturally impatient personality one bit. ;)

So, this whole blog post is to say that, for BLC #17, I will be a good girl and go back to using the gym scale for official weigh-ins. This means that I'm STILL not technically out of the 280s (but I'm so, so close at 280.2!). Frustrated isn't even the word for it anymore, but I WILL get out of the 280s on the gym scale this week. I need, I must, I shall. 3 ounces. I can do 3 ounces!

    You can totally do it!! I completely understand, I was almost to the point of losing 100 lbs. and I swear I circled around that for what felt like weeks. I kept getting close and then I would gain again the net week. It is so darn frustrating, but I finally broke through and I never looked back. So keep pushing and doing what you know you need to do and you will totally get past that number and into the 280's. I am so excited for you! :) Good luck

    Of course you can! I know how you feel about the nighttime fully clothed gym thing, I definitely get a high off seeing the scale drop more significantly at home in the morning not all decked out. Lol you CAN do this!
