An Introduction

Sunday, January 20, 2013

So, I'm not really expecting many people to read this blog, but I still want to use it as kind of an outlet. Anyway, I suppose the standard first blog to write is kind of an introduction of myself.

My name is Andi. I'm from Georgia, but when I got married, I moved to Kentucky. Georgia is better, in my opinion. So it kind of sucks being 8 hours away from my family. I graduated with a degree in Psychology, and I'm hoping that when my son is a little older, I'll have the time to get my Masters, and then Doctorate. I would love to work with the military or the VA as a therapist. I currently work at Kay Jewelers and I love my job. I have the greatest co-workers in the world. It's a far cry from psychology, but it was where I ended up after I got pregnant, and I can't bring myself to leave!

My parents still live in Georgia. I have one brother who lives in Florida. My son, Asher, is practically his twin. Asher was born in July of 2012. He lucked out and got his daddy's metabolism. He's about 3 months behind in the size clothes he should be fitting into. But he loves to eat! He's almost always happy and smiling and laughing. He really only cries if he's hungry or tired. My husband, Cliff, ETS'd from the Army in July, but he's planning on re-enlisting so that he can stop his current job. Right now, he works for the Department of Defense, so he spends 2 out of ever 3 months in a war zone. It's hard raising Asher without him, but I have his parents to help me. Cliff is my best friend, and it's painful being away from him so much, but I'm so thankful for the sacrifices he's making just to give our family a great life.

I started Jenny Craig on January 19th. So far, I've enjoyed all of the food (even though it's been 2 days). I have baby weight that I'm trying to lose, as well as weight gained after the pregnancy due to postpartum medication. I never, ever thought I would get to the point of doing one of these programs, but here I am. It makes me a little sad, but I'm trying to be hopeful that it will work.

I would love to make some friends on here for support or just friends in general. So feel free to message me!

Thank you for sharing all about yourself and your weight loss journey and hopes!
I know you can do it! Keep pushing and it will get there!

Sorry everyone in your house is sick right now. I kind of know how you feel. People all around me are getting sick and I'm just hoping that somehow it misses me. I've totally missed it two of the three times I've been exposed to the flu so here's hoping there's a third in my future!

Your baby looks adorable. My best friend had a little one around two years ago and he was the same way. He's still pretty even tempered..lucky gal :)
