This week has been much better than last. I was not feeling as down about the breakup but am still finding it hard to concentrate and am mostly apathetic with bursts of panic here and there. I have been doing better in some areas and slacked off in others. Right now, I need to work on what needs working on the most and that is a challenge. I am quite organized so that is a start. I have some classes that I am getting behind in. One thing is that I need to stop avoiding work. I catch myself doing this here an there. Particularly with my resume and cover letters. I have never been comfortable in this area and seem to have a lot of help right now. I know that I need to take advantage of this but same as our wonderful sports center, I find myself avoiding what I know is good for me. I know with exercise and water, I use stickers for motivation and have added completing assignments and resume and cover letter drafts to that list for stickers. It just seems that I am fighting against something in me that does not want me to succeed or is scared to succeed. I was doing really well until the beginning of this, my final semester and I can't have it all go down the tubes now. If there are any suggestions, please let me know.

One thing that I find helpful is to make a list of what I absolutely have to get done. Then I set a timer and start--I tell myself that I'll just work for 20 minutes. When the timer goes off if I need a break, I'll take a short one. Then I reset the timer for another 20 minutes and keep going. Seems to help me,perhaps it will work for you.
