Sweetened Foods

Sunday, January 20, 2013

Well, sweetened yogurt anyway, may need to take a reprieve from my grocery list. I really enjoy Greek yogurt. I was in my local warehouse club this week and they didn't carry the brand I like in the smaller individual serving containers. I really like those because they are quick, easy and the measuring is already done for me. I read a few labels on some of the "fruit on the bottom" brands and selected one. I got my new Greek yogurt home and tried one. YUM! It was really good. It wasn't long and I was wandering back to the kitchen ... another yogurt on my mind.

I was amazed. I couldn't get those sweetened yogurts out of my head! I WANTED more and more. When I eat my usual plain Greek yogurt, I eat my serving and I'm satisfied. Sometimes I just have it by itself, sometimes dip apple slices into it, sometimes use it as a topping for butternut squash. But eating the plain has never been a problem.

When I was at the market yesterday, I replenished my stock of plain Greek yogurt. I was talking with the grocer. He commented that he can't keep ice cream in his freezer ... if it's there, he'll eat it. It's the sweet treat that calls to him. That's been my dilemma the past few days.

From here forward, I'll be enjoying my plain Greek yogurt emoticon ... even if I have to go to a different market to purchase it. I'm worth that effort!

Great choice! Sounds like a lot of our foods may be our mind, cravings and addictions (sugar?). Have a great day and thanks for the great post.

Best, Dave

I really like sweetened yogurt too but don't eat it anymore either after looking at the sugar grams...yikes.

emoticon I love any yogurt but have recently found out it doesn't agree with me so I haven't had any in months. I agree, you are so worth the extra miles to get exactly what you want and need!

Yes, you are worth that effort. I think all of us have something that is dangerous for us to keep on hand...for me it is chocolate covered peanuts.
