December Report

I'm very late writing this, but hey at least I got it done!


emoticon I tracked my food every day this month, for I believe about the sixth month in a row. I can safely say this has become habit!

emoticon I stayed within my caloric range 22/31 days this month!


emoticon I logged in 1755 fitness minutes. I didn't quite reach my goal of 2000 minutes but given the busy nature of the month I think I did okay!

emoticon I did cardio 30/31 days this month.

emoticon I did strength training 3/31 days, which leaves room for improvement.

emoticonIn other exciting fitness news, today we got a rowing machine! I've never used one before but it actually looks like fun!


emoticon I did not gain any weight during the holidays! . . . This might be a little misleading, because I did spend a few days this month eating way more than I was supposed to and if justice were served I would have finished the holidays around 157. But a little friendly help in the form of a stomach virus came and undid all my would-have-been lardy gain, so I maintained. I finished the year averaging 154.


emoticon Ever since I created a table showing my income and my expenses, I have spent my money much more wisely. I did not go overboard for the holidays or even with the after-holiday sales!

emoticon I read Jane Eyre and A Game of Thrones, the first of the "A Song of Fire and Ice" series. Each were about 800 pages.

emoticon I wrote 3 blogs of an intended 10. It's better than 0 but still not a number I'm proud of.

emoticon I had a fantastic Christmas and New Year's with friends and family! That's not really an accomplishment, but it was still the highlight of the month!


emoticon Write 9 blogs, meaning 7 to go in 11 days. Something to shoot for, eh? And I still have to ...

emoticon Publish my resolutions so I can't wriggle out from under them.

emoticon Write 1 Orient Express blog.

emoticon Write 3 new chapters in the novel.

emoticon Empty 3 boxes this month.

emoticon Do 8-12 strength training sessions this month.

emoticon Do a minimum of 16 cardio sessions this month, an average of 4 per week.

emoticon Take measurements once this month so I know where I stand at the start of the year.

emoticon Reach or pass 153 by February!

    Great Job, Captain!
Hey, I really like how you listed everything. One thing especially stood out to me as a much better way that I could and should look at my own program. When you listed that you stayed within your calorie range 22/31 days, I thought; Wow, that leaves a person feeling a hell of lot more positive about what they actually are accomplishing here than the way I had been looking at my own, not always 100% PERFECT, progress. You see, if I had stayed within my calorie range for 30 days and then ONE lousy day went over my calorie range, like on the 31st of the month, I would have looked at it as ......."failed at this, might as well just binge now and start over next month or next year or whenever". Stupid, Stupid, Stupid!!!

Now, I know you've shown us your reports before, so I wonder why it suddenly stood out to me now .... AND..... why the heck it took me sooooooo long to see something so profoundly good for my own psychological outlook.

    I loved Jane Eyre! I am in between books right now and definitely miss reading as its my main hobby. great idea on posting done things and going to do things. My mile post is that i can touch the floor flat handed , started out that i couldn't touch my toes!
