Compliments

Saturday, January 19, 2013

I've kind of been on a plateau. I'm solidly in One-derland, so I'm okay with it. Maintain or lose, just don't gain--good motto.

But two different people complimented me on my weight loss today. It surprised me that they even noticed. But it felt good. And I just said 'thank you.'

I have been kind of on a plateau for months now. I think of it as ok as my body is adjusting to that weight. Now I need to pick up the pace and start losing again.

It always feels good when people recognize and acknowledge your hard work! Have you tried switching up your routine a bit to break the plateau? Play with your calorie intake, go to the high end for a couple days then down to the low end; also your exercise, try a new DVD or different fitness class and add in some strength training. Some times the body just becomes too accustomed to the routine and it's good to change things up from time to time to keep the body going..."Oh! What's going on, pay attention!"

I always had a plateau last from 4-6 weeks. Just enough time to make me more determined than ever. emoticon

Plateauing in weight loss can be frustrating. I like your attitude of lose or maintain, either is success. Your body is probably adjusting to your significant loss.

Yup, thank you is all that is necessary - no apologies for how hard you have worked to get to where you are today. You must be very proud.
