I gave myself a nice Christmas present - a new treadmill. It is a Proform 397, nice, moderately priced, and has all the bells and whistles I need. Now, what will be my excuse for not getting my walking in?! None - as of tomorrow I will have no excuse. I can no longer say - it's too dark, too cold, too hot, no sidewalks and is therefore not safe.
I say as of tomorrow, because tonight I am assembling it. And earlier today I unloaded the huge box from a rented pick-up, and then had to figure out how to get it into the house - it was heavier than I had expected. So, I unpacked all the smaller pieces, closed the box , and used a hand truck to roll it into my house and down the hall and into my newly designated exercise room/library.
Just getting it in the house was a workout in itself. Whew! But, where there's a will there's a way. And I definitely had the will. I can't wait to see how many steps I will be taking.
So here's my workout schedule for now
- walking every day (indoor and/or out) in increasing distances as I progress
- aerobic workout dvd's 3 times per week 45-60 minutes
- strength training 4 days per week in increasing resistances
