I have decided that on Saturdays and Sundays I'm going to run on the treadmill. It will be a change from my M-F routines and a little easier. However, I realized that I have not run in a very, very, very long time.
I only ran for 30 minutes and the last 10 felt like 30 :) I know it is going to take some time to build my endurance back up. I was running 3ish miles in around 40 mins. Some of that was on a treadmill and some was outdoors. I do not run outside here. I am scared of the city and my bf says this is not the greatest place to go outside so he says he feels safer if I don't run outside. He is using my car right now as his is out of order at the time so driving somewhere is out of the question. I would love to find a nice trail to run on.
Anyway, back to my story. I chose the terrain setting on the treadmill and adjusted my speed. I always have to go a little faster than it starts out b/c my stride is long and I feel like I'm trying too hard to stay on the machine. I did run for a few different spurts...one being 3 mins at a 5 incline. That definitely got me huffing and puffing.
With it being in the afternoon didn't help much either, I'm sure. I am so use to working out in the mornings, but the lock on the center is being fixed so we have to go through the office (the fitness center is in the office building in my apartment complex), which means I can only go when the office is open.
Next week they should have locks fixed and I'll be able to go any time, it will be 24 hours. Plus, the more weekends I accomplish my goal of running the better I'll get.
