So after the Christmas / New Year slump where I seemed to hover at 85kg I have finally broken into 84kg range. I'm currently 84.2kg which means I'm now 3 quarters of my way towards my goal of 80kg. I should hopefully be down to 83 something in the next couple of days. Total weight loss so far 16.2kg (35.7lb).
It's great being back at work and adopting my old successful routine rather than the daily holiday crap-shoot of workout interruptions, unplanned meals and general daily craziness throwing a spanner in the works.
I've just been through another round of "wardrobe culling". I tried each item on and my wife gave it the thumbs up if it wasn't toooooo baggy and the thumbs down if it looked ridiculous. And a lot of the clothes did. Which is great but also a tad worrying as my wardrobe and drawers are half empty. I've already had to buy clothes in the Medium size rather than my usual Large which I've worn for at least the last 15 years.
We decided that this year we will compete in the 12km "Mud Run", an event we first did the first time I lost 10kg (before my back injury). I feel a lot better than I did the first time but I will have to switch my workout from simply weight loss to include endurance and strength training to ensure I have the breath and stamina to do the course. The first time we did it for fun but this time we want to destroy our fairly casual previous times. The event is usually around August so plenty of time to get fighting fit.
Well, off to the kitchen to bake fruit muffins!
