Lowest Weight Thus Far!!!

Stepping on the scale this morning made me so happy that I would have burst into dance if it weren't for these damned shin splints! :D So far this month I've lost more weight than I've been losing every month for the last six months! Since I haven't really changed what I'm doing that much, I can only assume this glorious change was brought on by coming off of the birth control pill I've been taking since July (which was also the start of my weight loss journey).
I'm in between pills right now (starting a new kind on Sunday) and kicked the kind I've been taking to the curb last week. Well, usually I lose about 1/2 a pound per week, in the week since I've come off of the pill I've lost almost 1.5 pounds. I feel great about this because I was really getting bummed out. For months I've been working out 3-5x per week and since the first of January, I've worked out 6 days per week and I've always been on a lower calorie diet and I'm FINALLY almost at my goal of 2 pounds per week although I can happily live with 1.5 per week.
I'm really hoping this momentum continues because this summer we are going to the beach and I am really hoping to be able to feel good about myself inside of a bathing suit when we go. I've NEVER felt comfortable in one. I want to look good and feel confident and not have my thighs rub together! This will also be Luna's first trip to the beach and I'd love to be able to focus on having fun with her and taking pictures than focusing on how uncomfortable I feel. Normally I would've used the word "fat" there, but I'm trying to steer clear of using it since it's such an ugly word.
Anyway, fingers crossed this continues! Once I am able (just waiting on these shin splints to go away) I'm going to increase the amount of Zumba I do. And I CANNOT wait for that! :D

I know it's hard to not take too much value with what the scale says. But I'm sure with all of the exercise you've been doing, some of that "lack of weight loss" is also being affected by the amount of muscle mass you've been gaining. And with the added effect of having children, I'm sure those muscles have needed time to properly build. Perhaps now, your body is ready to take off and really get the ball rolling! emoticon

And I hope a fast recovery with the shin splints. D: Those are awful. And yay for Zumba. If I didn't have two left feet, I'm sure I'd do it more often. lol
