The other day hubby had off to fix our water problem and I tagged along in the truck. I had him drop me off at Sears while he picked up the things he needed.
I found a beautiful blue sweater that I fell in love with. I'm not much for clothes shopping, but it was marked down and then had another sale price deducted at the register. The problem - there were only 2 left. One an XL and one a medium. Sometime in December I discovered I had lost enough weight and toned up enough to fit into a large.
I opted for the medium thinking it would fit in it in another couple of months. I will still get many wears out of it as the Colorado nights are cool, even in summer sometimes.
Getting the sweater was the beginning. I showed it to hubby telling him my options were to return it for the bigger one, return it for refund, or just keep it and work to fit into it. I told him I wanted to keep it.
Hubby "caught" me exercising the next morning. I hate when anyone sees me. I am not well balanced or coordinated. He made a comment, "I can tell that is harder than it looks." I felt so good that he noticed. He then agreed that I should keep the sweater. That shows he has faith in me.
Later I was counting my (1 quarter per 30 mins) exercise money. I told him I was no longer saving it for shoes in the spring, but for a fitbit. I told him a little about them and went on about my business. He popped into the room I was exercising in a little while later. He had been researching the fitbits. Not only that, he had bid on one for me. One with all the frills.
Later my dd was on the phone with me and I told her about it. She warned me not to be disappointed. Many people have bids and win at the last second. The countdown commenced while we chatted. I glanced down and told her I just might win, though I was trying to stay calm. We counted down the final seconds together. What a shriek I let out when I won! (I did have the sense to move the phone before I attempted to break her eardrum)
I am so excited about this. The earliest it will come is the 25th, the latest, they said, would be the 30th. It is going to be great starting February with it.
Yes, I am going to fit into that gorgeous blue sweater!
