The theme for this, the first week of BLC21 is Just Do It! Aligning with that theme the weekend challenge which runs from Friday through Monday, requires us to choose, tackle and break-through the barrier of one obstacle that has been holding us back. The directives of the challenge further stated …. it could be something you fear. Maybe something that makes you feel silly. Something that you think you can't do. Have you told yourself that you're too old/heavy/out of shape to do something? Maybe you've been putting something off for tomorrow, and tomorrow hasn't ever came. Talk about perfect timing … This week’s theme is spot on!!! As a matter of fact when I read the challenge I smiled - the kind of smile that you get from a 5 year old who gets caught with her hand in the cookie jar! Just before I read what the challenge would be, I was sitting there thinking of ways to get out of posting a before picture for the challenge … I know that at some point or the other the “before and after picture” suggestion would surface and so my plan was to just post a partial “shot” just so I could get the points for “completing” the requirements.
I am a very private person with an outgoing personality ... talk about oxymoron lol! I just don’t like to be in the “lime light” and this disposition sometimes work against me in more ways than one. For instance, it carries over into my weight loss effort in that I will experience many non scale victories but seldom give recognition to, or celebrate them as such because that would mean making these victories “public.” Another offshoot of my “liking to stay in the background” is avoiding having my pictures taken /“public.” This, yet again is another instance of working against my weight loss effort … minimizing the use of visualizing - a powerful tool when it comes to weight loss. Anyways, I am working on changing this attitude and this weekend’s challenge affords me an excellent opportunity to make great strides in this effort. In stead of posting a partial “shot” like I had planned on doing, I am going to make this a true challenge - I have decided to JUST DO IT!!! I will post a FULL BODY shot of me and will even throw in a “close up head shot (not very recent but a big step forward for me!) Here goes:
You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do ... Eleanor Roosevelt
