End of Week Analysis

Well this week has been challenging for me. I have felt sore throughout my body using the thirty day shred. Sadly though, I gained two pounds this week. I hope that it's muscle and I hope that I can see a difference on the scale next week. I know it's not about numbers, but it does make me feel like I'm doing something wrong when the number goes up with all my hard work.
Yoga has been amazing more me. Mentally when I get home and do this, I feel more alert and aware yet calm at the same time. It helps me release stress from work and get over whatever frustration I was dealing with there. While Yoga is not really a great workout for weight loss I've read about many of benefits of doing yoga this week, include: helps with depression and anxiety (which I've struggled with), helps with back pain, helps with dealing with stress, helps overeaters to become more mindful and eat less, it helps with alertness, helps with postural hypotension, and helps with sex. It also teaches you to accept yourself for who you are. I feel like these are all things I could stand to benefit from beyond just the feeling I have of loving it each time I do it. I definitely welcome this new habit into my life!
For those looking for an excellent yoga video, I highly recommend Ali McGraw's yoga video. It's currently available on iTunes for 7.99. I have about five different yoga DVD's I've collected over the years and this hands down in my favorite. It was made in the 90's, but don't let that turn you away. It's the best produced video. It's filmed in the new mexico dessert. The cinematography is amazing. The voice over instructions are very clear. The practice is slow and guides you to align your breath with each pose. And lastly the music is very relaxing. I have yet to find anything that meets the standard of this video. I will say the poses are a mix of beginner to intermediate.
