Nice compliments

Saturday, January 19, 2013

I got some very nice compliments yesterday! Walking down the hall at work, a coworker behind me said, Caren you're looking great! I didn't recognize you from behind. And then at the gym, I saw a student I hadn't seen for quite some time, and he told me looking good and gave me a high five. I was talking to one of the staff at the rec center, Brittany, she taught the Wed spin class. She is taking a course to be a personal trainer. As part of the class they're assigned clients. It's 20 sessions for $50. I would really like to get her for a trainer. I did really great with a personal trainer last semester, & lost 10 pounds.

I really want to lose another 10. I'll be out of the obese category. I want that so much!

I went to the gym yesterday, and was going to lift, but the weight room was packed, so I just did 30 min on the bike.

The classes I plan to go to today are Weekend Workout at 12-1, followed by 30 Min Abs.

This week's mental exercise is to refrain from either agreeing or disagreeing with other people's opinions. That's really tough! I have trained myself to bond with others by agreeing. And I'm opinionated myself, I just can't wait to share my opinion with others. The idea behind this exercise is to practice neutrality, so that when the self judgement starts in my head, I don't agree with it. It takes a lot of active self awareness to notice the agreements.

Recipe: Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breast

Funny step 4. Mix together Olive oil, Lemon juice and seasoning. Brush over breasts (the chicken's, not your own).

Minutes this week, running total:
Cardio: 30
Strength: 80

As a RN, I had to learn to not agree but also not disagree. It was quite hard at first. But then I learned how much easier it made other relationships go. But some people will try to goad you into agreeing or not. That's when diplomacy comes in. Good job making this decision. I think it will only help you grow as a person.

Good idea for getting a personal trainer. I joined Spark Coach Friday. I will blog about it in due time.

Keep pushing yourself in all these areas. It's so healthy that you challenge yourself. You are really thinking up new ways toward betterment. YAY!!

Your hard work is paying off!

The mental exercise is very interesting. I would have a hard time with that too in my personal life. As a nurse we are actually taught to do that to a certain extent.

Love the breast comment. Just when I was ready to season my breasts you went and ruined it for me with your clarification. LOL.

Nice that people are offering encouraging remarks your direction. That's a great deal for a trainer!

I like your mental exercise. I usually agree with people even if I really don't' because I avoid conflict at all costs. This sounds like something I should try. Also, laughed out loud at your recipe. I wasn't expecting that!

Oooh, how nice to get compliments (especially the "behind" one)!

I like your mental exercise - I think it would be good for me too. As my favorite HS teacher used to say, God gave you TWO ears and only ONE mouth, so you can listen twice as much as you speak.

People don't realize how powerful words (positive or negative) can be. A simple compliment can pump up someone for the day or a negative comment can send someone on a destructive path for a longer time.

Congratulations on your compliments because you are worthy and you deserve them.
I would ask Brittany if you could be her client if you want her for a trainer. Maybe you could be assigned to her.

Have a great weekend!

Depending onb the seasonings, step 4 could also apply to our own breasts! emoticon emoticon
Olive oil is very good for your skin & lemon juice is a natural astringent.

Great Blog!
