Today's Sparkcoach video was about moderation in diet, exercise and outlook. I think I have finally managed to find moderation this time and it is helping me succeed. For example, rather than plunging back into a running program that I'm not ready for, I'm slowly building up my endurance with the 12-week walking program. This means I'm not exhausted all the time like I have been in the past!

I think there are still areas of my diet where I could apply moderation more. My main trigger food is potato chips and I haven't had one in 6 weeks. Soon (maybe not today!) I might be ready to try really savouring a handful, rather than inhaling the whole bag. Also, moderation in my outlook is important - for example, this evening I am having dinner at my mom's and she is definitely not known for her low-calorie cooking. I will simply choose small portions, most likely skip dessert, and make sure my other meals are healthy. Most importantly, I will notice when I am stressing about it! I can't control what she cooks - only what I put in my mouth.
