Last year I made my 12 in '12 list for New Year's resolutions. I accomplished most of them, which I was very proud of. And I am trying not to feel too guilty about the few that I was not successful with, because really I still did good. So this year I'm not even going to try to come up with 13 for '13. Instead here are just a few:
1. The biggest goal I have for this year involves a trip I will be taking in July. For 2 and a half weeks, I will be returning to Argentina for my little host sister's Cumple 15 (her 15th birthday). This celebration is bigger to them than a wedding so it will be exciting! And I am taking my mother with me since she was not able to visit me while I was living there. She's nervous already, it's pretty cute. Anyway, my goal involved with this is to be at least the same weight/size I was when I left. Which means I have about 20 more pounds to lose by July 9th. To accomplish this, I have faithfully been tracking my meals everyday for 5 weeks. I have already lost about 4 pounds. Hoping that trend keeps up! Also trying to kick it up a notch with my cardio workouts to help :)
2. Beat my 5k time from last year (1 hour and 30 seconds). Again, tracking my food, continuing strength training 2-3 times a week, and kicking up my cardio will hopefully help me accomplish that.
3. My last goal is to add 1-2 5Ks to the list for this year. There are 2 new ones here in Fargo this year: Run or Dye (similar to the Color Run, which I have always wanted to do) and the Go Far Woman 5K (which is an all female race). I am really excited to add a couple of new bibs to my collection!
So that's it, those are the only specific goals I am setting for this year. Anything else I accomplish will just be a bonus :D Here's to continuing the journey!
