I Just Need to Learn to Listen

Saturday, January 19, 2013

How frustrating it is when we tell our kids to do something and they intentionally ignore what we are telling them! I am one that will not tolerate such behavior. If I have said something, I expect my children to listen and obey.

ISN'T IT AMAZING HOW WE HAVE DOUBLE STANDARDS FOR OURSELVES?!? OUCH!!!!

Oh, yes! I hear the still small voice of God saying, " You're not hungry any more. Why don't you forget about eating anything else." But do I listen? No. I have to polish it off and even taste another item or two before I decide to call it quits. What is that?

DISOBEDIENCE. PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

So what should I do? Too easy, right? Just do it. Listen. Obey. God designed this body. He knows exactly how much it needs and when. BUT...

NO! NO MORE "BUTS"!!! FROM NOW ON, I AM GOING TO LISTEN AND OBEY. HE WANTS ME TO LOSE WEIGHT. HE KNOWS HOW TO MAKE IT HAPPEN. HE WANTS TO HELP ME ALONG THIS JOURNEY, SO I AM GOING TO LET HIM.

Here I am, Father. I am extremely out of shape. This is not the body you planned for me to have. This is not the energy level you want for me. You have great and mighty things in store for me. Forgive me for being rebellious. Forgive me for hearing you and ignoring your voice. I want to please you. In my life, I want you to be magnified and glorified. Help me as I travel this long winding road to help as many people as I can along the way. Help me to help them to get to where you want them to be - not only physically, but in every aspect. Thank you for your patience. Thank you for what you are about to do in all of us. In Jesus' name, AMEN!

P.S. I want to hear YOU say, emoticon
