We had a good day, DH is doing great. i am bone weary, but happy.

I have needed to follow DH around to be sure he was walking right with the walker. The walker is just able to go through our doorways, when I say JUST able it is likely 1/4 inch or 1/2 inch clearance.

I am very weary and I'm not going to Blog for long. I had hoped to be in bed tonight by 10 am It is after that but I will hopefully be able to catch up tomorrow.
I am home and suddenly feel very tired . Good night all Pat in Maine.

Hi Pat - hope you got a good night's sleep and that Fred is doing well today. I've often thought that sickness is harder on the caregiver than on the patient -- so be sure to take care of yourself and don't fret over not doing much Sparking - we'll understand!

Pat,
I'm so glad you got home safely, and have safely (by now more than a day at) hope. I imagine you will be tired for a little while with all the preparations and detailed organisation you managed before Fred's surgery. Now both of you need to get some rest, him to heal and you to be able to have energy to care for the both of you.

It's the emotional let down after all the stress and worry and planning. You need to take care of you and rest as much as you can! As Fred progresses, things will get back to a more normal state and you will start to feel better. You are an amazing woman and have done an amazing job caring for your husband. Get as much rest as possible so you don't get sick!

Two years ago I was right where you are with a husband and surgery, walkers, shower stools, the whole thing. I had to do all the shoveling of snow myself that year, and it felt like caretaking and a doctor a day would go on forever. But it's now 2 years in the past. It does pass and spring will come!
