A Different Perspective

Friday, January 18, 2013

At the office, my office manager and I were lamenting the start of the 2013 year and wishing it would end by zipping forward to 2014. A nurse-practioner overheard us and reminded us that it is not necessarily a challenging year but may be just a challenging month.
As I reflected on this, I had to concur.
It is a bit extreme to dump the whole year.
So I am taking this weekend to reflect and refocus.

TO TAKE THE NURSE PRACTITIONER'S COMMENT ONE STEP FURTHER......WHEN YOU ARE YOUNG ITS EASY TO WISH UNPLEASANT MOMENTS, HOURS, DAYS AND MONTHS AND YEARS AWAY.

WHEN YOU GET OLDER YOU WILL LEARN THAT EACH DAY IS A GIFT AND VERY PRECIOUS. THINK OF THOSE OUT THERE WITH TERMINAL ILLNESS OR LIFE THREATENING SITUATIONS HOW THEY HAVE LEARNED TO APPRECIATE EACH AND EVERY MOMENT AND CLING TIGHTLY TO IT ALL.

REMEMBER YESTERDAY HAS GONE, TOMORROW NOT PROMISED, SO ALL YOU HAVE IS TODAY. LIVE EACH DAY AS IF IT WAS YOUR LAST STAYING IN THE NOW. TRY IT AND IT WILL CHANGE A LOT OF YOUR PERSPECTIVES...IT DID FOR ME.
