Whoever invented the winter farmer's market...

Friday, January 18, 2013

...is my favorite person right now!

It's January, so right now we've got slim pickings in terms of produce here in central PA. (Thank goodness for grocery stores!) But I finally made it to the winter farmer's market today and oh, the meat! The eggs! The honey! The raw heavy cream to put in my morning cup of coffee! Bliss!!!

Also, it turns out there is a bison ranch a couple of towns away from this crazy college town. $9/pound for ground meat is extraordinarily expensive, but I am very much looking forward to tomorrow night's meatloaf! And maybe next week I'll splurge on a wild-salmon fillet.

Oh farmer's market, you do make me smile!

Bison makes the best stuffed peppers! SOOOO TASTY. If bison steak is available, it's really expensive but it makes for an awesome "grad school is HARD" dinner treat when you need it.

We have an amazing Farmer's Market here Decatur, a suburb of Atlanta. I love making the weekly trip to get fresh fruits, veggies, meats, and cheeses. Enjoy!
