What I ate 1/17 (trial run)

Well I'll give this a go and see if I can keep at it for longer than 3 days. No idea if it will be helpful or not and i certainly dont expect anyone else to be interested (not that i ever really do - but am always pleasantly surprised and feel warm fuzzies by the support).

So today I had:

1 slice ezekial 4:9 bread with approx. 1 tbs natural peanut butter and half a banana.
1 cup coffee with tbs sugar and 1/3 cup whole milk

(side note: I really need to quit the coffee thing but cant bring myself to yet. Not sure how i feel about that much sugar plus whats in my chocolote square. anyway...)

then i made a smoothie with approx 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 1/2 cup organic orange juice, 2 TBS hemp protein powder, handful of spinach, 6 frozen strawberries, 1 banana, handful frozen blueberries, 1 TBS barleans orange flavor omega 3 oil, 1/2 TBS spiralina, 1/2 TBS chia seeds and enough water to get the consistency right.

I had half for breakfast and half after my workout.

At 11 I had an apple and 1 oz organic cheddar cheese.

Lunch was leftover roasted (with a bit of olive oil) cauliflower and zucchini with nutritional yeast sprinkled on top and about 4oz chicken baked with greek yogurt, parm cheese and sprinkled with panko whole wheat bread crumbs.

mid afternoon snack was 6 oz fagi yogurt with 1 cup mixed blueberries and strawberries.

Dinner was about a cup of spaghetti squash casserole which was made with some olive oil, 5 oz cottage cheese, 4 oz mozz cheese, 2 TBS parm cheese, fresh parsley, tomato, onion and sprinkled with bread crumbs. and spag squash obviously.

After zumba, i had the other half of the smoothie like i said and 1 square of 60% dark chocolate. and about 15 almonds.

thats more cheese than i usually have and I dont typically have whole wheat for lunch or supper. So I was probably on the high end of my range. I might not have even eaten a whole cup of the casserole cuz i was in a hurry. I feel pretty hungry right now which I'm trying to ignore. I dont know what that means.

So if you do happen to be interested in this, what do you think? Is that a pretty balanced day? If you eat clean, what do you think about the almond milk and flavored omega 3 oil? Too much dairy? Too much sugar with the coffee and chocolate? I'm just happy I got so much veg in!

    I've never tried the omega 3 oil either! You keep growing my list! lol!

    Thanks for sharing! Your meals sounded very balanced, healthy and tasty. I have beendrinking green smoothies myself and love the health benefits of it. I have tried thechia seeds but found that I like flaxseed in them better. I have never tried the omega 3 oil though. Where did you get the casserole recipe? Was it delicous? emoticon
