Holy Cycle Exhaustion Batman!

I promised myself in the beginning of the new year that I would throw in some new exercises into my exercise routine. I took my first cycle class today. I hated it and loved it at the very same time. It was intense. I usually do 120 minutes of exercise a day. After 60 minutes of spinning (cycle), I was DONE! I definitely feel like I got a good workout. I could not stand for very long. Okay, I really couldn't stand at all, but I upped the resistance to make up for it as the instructor told us to do. Spinning really got my blood pumping I will do it again. Probably Wednesday. I need a gel seat cushion though. oh my!!!! My booty is going to feel THAT in the morning! I was absolutely drenched in sweat.

I really like that I am adding new and different work outs. It really is keeping me motivated and not bored. But, yea, I need to remember this when I can't walk in the morning.

This weekend I can not go to the gym because the bus doesn't run when the classes are on and I only like the classes at this gym. I guess I get some walking in! I guess that is a way of cross-training too right? And with the two big workouts I have had I might need a day of recovery (or 3) with just walking and maybe some SP videos. :)

    I've been wondering about spin class, too. I just started the c25k program though, so I'll waiit until I've finished that before heading to spin class :-). Glad you got a good workout in. Be sure to stretch and move around to combat soreness. emoticon

    I've wondered about spinning too. heard lots about them, and even have looked at a spin cycle vs a stationary bike to add to our home equipment. my knees are just too scared to try... guess I'll stick to walking with my nordic poles for cardio

    Awesome that you tried a spin class! You have guts!!!! I'm so darn intimidated by those classes, I just can't bring myself to go. I'll have to consider following your lead. emoticon

    Wow! Thank you for sharing. I've been wanting to start a cycling class and was wondering what to expect. Guess I better get my endurance up a bit before I start, lol!
