I joined Spark People today (after an extended absence). It feels so comforting to be back! I am going to use the blog feature to keep track of progress. This being the day I joined, I am givng myself until Sunday to get rid of the food that doesn't belong in my kitchen, to set up my exercise program and to be ready to track everything.
My goal is to lose 36 pounds by September. SP set this goal for me.
I have joined two challenges on the Healthy Heart team: 1. No junk food for 21 days and 2. Lose 1 pound per week.
My husband's dad and 3 of his brothers have had major heart attacks. After his 3rd brother almost died a couple of weeks ago, he has finally realized his personal need to get serious about switching to a heart-healthy diet. This is going to make it soooooo much easier for me!
I believe we will support each other in a healthier approach to life in our seventies! I am determined to follow through, and it looks like he is too.
