It has been nearly 3 months since I last wrote a blog. Jeepers. I'm still in the same weight range I was back then.
I was in the process of training for my first ever half marathon which I "completed" Dec 16th. I injured my foot about 3 1/2 weeks before the race but was able to do it thanks to my great podiatrist! At about mile 10 in the race I started with excrutiating knee pain so I ran and walked the last couple miles. It has taken me nearly a month to get back on track. My long term goal is a healthy lifestyle, so I'm not sure I'll be doing any more long races since this one took me out of the loop almost completely. Although I think I figured out what I did to start the downward spiral. I ran 3 days in a row. A no-no for me.
Then all the holiday eating overcame me . . . blah blah blah . . . you know the drill.
I thought I was back on the wagon at New Years. Not quite. Then back on the wagon for my birthday. Not quite. Today, getting back on track. Darn it.
Running little bits here and there which feels totally awesome. Although my hip hurts which usually means I need new shoes. Going to a new shoe place tomorrow. Yay!
Did some goal setting with my awesome hubby so we can be better meal planners & preparers. So far so good. Thanks to SP meal planners!
I would like to hit my goal weight by our family vacation in July (not that many pounds to go but dang their stubborn), and I would like to be permanently and comfortably landed there by the end of the year. Want to be back up to running further. Signed up for a marathon relay for April 28th. I have a schedule for working out each week and have enough wiggle room for those bumps in the road.
So, all in all moving forward. Progress & perseverence, not perfection.
