Changing one thing a week

Friday, January 18, 2013

I have been feeling quite chuffed at having lost 3.5kilos in a fairly short soace of time. I know this will slow down and alot of it is due to the fact that I have stopped scoffing the christmas goodies. I always put on a few pounds over christmas. But I think some of these things may have helped too.
1) Using a smaller plate at dinner time. I have stopped using a full size dinner plate and now use a soup bowl with a wide rim. I cover it half with veggies, which fortunatley I love, a quater with rice/potatoe/pasta and the last little corner for whatever meat/fish combo is on the menu.
2) Enter the soup dragon- We bought a soup maker, Why?. Because we love kitchen gadgets. It makes just over a litre of soup in 28mins. Chuck in the veg, chuck in the stock and press the button. No oil or fat goes into it. Sorted. A bowl of this very low cal concoction also takes the edge of your appetite.
3) Water- yes I know. Not new discovery. Spark recommend lots of H2O. I have finally got it into my head that it does help especially when working in an overheated office. Any suggestions though for carrying on at the weekend? I let it slip at home and then wonder why I'm so thirsty after about 4 hours without a drink. What tips work for all of you?
