Okay, I'm crabby...

Friday, January 18, 2013

Make that friggin beyond crabby. I'm pissed. I understand that some of you home school your children and that is fine by me. You do what you have to do to make life work for you. I get that.

Question is, how many of you live in an upper/lower apartment setting? I suppose there is a second question to that as well. How friggin hard is it to NOT use your upper apartment as a gym type setting? Seriously, it's beautiful outside. Can't you take your child outside to release some energy instead of literally running back and forth, jumping up and down, off the furniture, stomping on the floor making me think the ceiling is going to fall in?

The guy upstairs is divorced and I understand life is not all it's cracked up to be, but holy damn! Sad thing is I don't mind her screaming and laughing, I enjoy hearing that, but I am starting to think I live under a herd of elephants! Any suggestions on how to handle this without stringing the little brat up by her toes and slapping the crap out of her dad?

Unfortunately, we have already done that. Have even gone to the point of talking to the land lord who called him and explained the problem. The guy actually brought himself and his daughter to apologize saying they didn't know they were being that noisy. I appreciated that. Has not stopped the problem though. The little girl, who I am told is 8, has a mouth on her that my daughter never did. Hubby has come to call her the demon child. Still jumping, and bouncing and it does literally sound like a herd of elephants.

I applaud you for going through the effort of trying to raise 4 children on your own, I have 4 step children as well, and I hope yours are as well behaved and quiet as I had gotten mine to be. I just don't get how hard it is to bundle her up and take her outside for awhile.

Maybe I have forgotten what it's like to have little ones and need to remember that not everyone parents like I did. Thanks for your response.

I just moved to an apartment and I have 4 kids (single mom going through a divorce). What I have done is talk to the people below me and figure out some kind of schedule so that I can be respectful when they go to bed, naps.... so, if you talk to the dad calmly and let him know what is going on and ask if there is a time that could be a loud time and a quieter time where the child can do sitting work.... This might help him as well to step up to the plate on parenting... GOOD LUCK!
