Yesterday, I did my Pilates DVD: "Crunch: Fat Burning Pilates with Ellen Barrett."
I can definitely say that a LOT of muscles got worked. Oh my goodness!!! I will say that some prior Pilates knowledge would be good, however, Ellen covers everything with you. In the beginning of the video, there I did finish the video, though, I had to at times follow one of the other girls there for the modified versions of the moves. I still feel confident about it.
I can safely say that I did break an amazing sweat!
The beginning of the routine starts with a dance based cardio routine. She has encorporated Pilates moves into a low impact (but fast paced) cardio section! Some of it I couldn't quite follow, but actually, for a first time, I am going to say NOT BAD! The cardio is 26 minutes.
The second part of the video focuses on the Pilates floor work. I may actually get a yoga mat to go with this. It is not required but it'll cushion my carpet a little bit more lol. The floor work is 14 minutes. I feel quite "Stretched out" and relaxed now.
Honestly, I have done videos in the past, and I haven't liked the setting or the instuctor. That's not a problem here! They actually have a young man doing tribal drums in the background and providing most of the music for the Cardio. He is amazing!! It definitely helps set the tone. Ellen herself is VERY friendly, motivating, and reminds you of the importance of proper form and breathing.
All in all, I think I am going to enjoy doing this video, and I would like to get more of her videos in the future!
Eating wise, not too bad. I am so proud that I was able to go in and order a coffee...but that it wasn't too horrible for me. What's better, is that it almost felt like second nature. I could have done without the bagel, but it looked good, and so I went for it. Apparently, since I have been eating healthier, my body wasn't sure what to do about the cream cheese, because my stomach was soooo upset afterwards!
Consider it a lesson learned!
