Ahh! So much has happened since the last time I logged in (which was FOREVER ago).

This past summer I was diagnosed with endometriosis. I went to Urgent Care with abdominal pain on my right side. They though it was my appendix and sent me to the Emergency Room where they started prepping me to get my appendix taken out. After a CT Scan they found that it was a ruptured ovarian cyst, which is extremely painful. I then went to a gynecologist where further tests revealed that I have endometriosis. Endometriosis is when tissue that normally lines the inside of your uterus grows outside of your uterus. The main solution to this was to be put on birth control which was my biggest fear. I gained 40 pounds within months from the Depo shot (birth control shot) a couple years ago and stopped taking it because of the weight gain. The reason I was originally placed on it was because of such painful periods (which we now know is due to my endometriosis). After I stopped taking the Depo shot, I had excruciating pain during my periods (worse than before the depo) but I told myself I would rather be in a lot of pain than gain any more weight. I decided to give the pill a try and so far NO WEIGHT GAIN, which I'm really happy about.

Let's see... What else has happened in the past year? I joined a sorority- Sigma Sigma Sigma and absolutely love it! Last fall I was Health and Fitness chair and I've gotten a lot of my sisters motivated to keep exercising and eating healthy through a few strategies. For example: we have a binder in the gym at school where we log hours and whoever has the most hours at the end of the month gets a gift card! In the middle of last semester, I took over Recruitment Director position so I gave up my Health and Fitness chair but I'm so proud that the new Health and Fitness chair is doing a great job of keeping everyone motivated and excited about working out!

I'm going to Daytona Beach for spring break in 57 days with 4 of my friends! Crunch time begins... NOW! Haha. I'm hoping to lose at least 10 more pounds before then!

Well that's all the BIG changes/things in my life right now. I really hope to stick to working out and updating through SparkPeople again!
