Frugal tip : Make your own candles--I did.

I just hate it when the store bought candles wicks burn out before all the wax is used. So I have been saving the used candles and this morning I made new candles from the wax of left over candles.

I began to make candles years ago in my 20's just for fun. I still enjoy doing it and by recycling the unused wax it is also quite frugal.

I have been thinking a lot lately about wastefulness, waste of time, money, environment, and wasted promises to myself to lose weight.

I am going to try something different. I am going to stop dieting and just eat when I am really hungry. Drink a glass of water before I eat a meal or snack to see if I am really hungry. Eat what I really am hungry for not what some diet tells me to eat. Eat mindfully-savoring every bite. AND stop eating when I am full. Exercise to have fun. Reactivate hobbies I enjoy so I am playing again.

The sun is shining today even with 25 degrees, that makes me hopeful, happy, and NOT HUNGRY.

  I have lots of leftover candles with no wick to burn. What is the tip on how to replace the candle wick and how do you do this? I enjoy frugal tips -- thank you!

    I would like to know how you made them. I have a couple of shelves of partially burned candles. The one I did burn to the bottom, I used the glass holder for toothpicks.

I agree with what you wrote. I binged horribly yesterday.

    I used to know someone that made home made candles and I thought they were far superior to store bought candles. Hobbies are good, they keep the mind busy and help keep the mind off of eating. I know this may seem crazy to some, but I've found if I have an orange or something healthy in the evening about fifteen to thirty minutes before dinner and drink water I actually eat less at dinner. I like where you say exercise to have fun. On of my goals is to exercise because I enjoy it and not just to lose weight. Have a great day! emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Perfect attitude and mindset. We're doing this so we can be healthy and fit and live active lifestyles--not to punish ourselves!!!! So glad you figured out how to make it fun and to fit into your life--not take it over and hold you hostage.
