Although I did not lose weight in 2012 or resolve my binge and mindless eating habits I did have some non scale victories during the year.
I was able to get myself back to the gym and do my workouts even though there were periods when I did not go such as in the summer time when it got too hot. However, I have always been able to eventually pick myself up and get back to it. What has helped me is working with a coach who tests me on my fitness and gives me exercises and workouts to do. However, she will be out of the country for two or three months so will have to do this all on my own. But I am determined to show her good results when she does return. I also enjoy the zumba classes so I look forward to those.
As a result of doing my workouts and hiking and skiing I have developed more stamina and am not as tired. I can also climb stairs without getting winded. Although I do get a bit out of breath after two flights of stairs I still stop but only for a few seconds. I also stop and rest after the third flight but once I complete my four flights I am not as out of breath as I was when I was not working out.
Last week I went to see my nurse at the Women's Healthy Heart Institute. She weighed me and measured my waist. I had lost one pound since last seeing her at the end of October and I also lost 4 inches in my waist.
During the times I was working I cooked and brought my lunch to work 4 out of 5 days during the week. Before I would sometimes bring a lunch and other times eat out at bistros or fast food places.
I am also cooking more and not eating out as much. I cook two recipes per week which I use for lunches and dinners. I fit in cooking times as much as I can.
In the fall I started working with a life coach who is getting me to become more in touch with my feelings and more aware of myself. She has given me growth work to do in order to change my thought patterns. I know it won't happen overnight but in time I will learn to love myself and the weight will come off.
For 2013 I want to continue with these victories but also add more victories. I want to be able to conquer as much as possible my binge eating. I also want to be able to eat my 5 servings of fruits and vegetables and drink 8 glasses of water a day. I want to love and respect myself and take care of my body and once that is accomplished the weight will start to come off.
