A few years back I bought the Jillian Michaels 30-Day Shred DVD. I never did it for 30 straight days but I liked it OK, as it's a pretty tough 20-25 minute workout. I put it away for about a year and started using it again recently.

The thing that bothers me the most about the DVD is the fact that Jillian attempts to motivate by talking about how good you’ll look in jeans, the fact that you could have rock hard abs, etc. I am not interested in having rock hard abs, and in all honesty – I already look damn good in jeans. emoticon So her attempts at motivation make me roll my eyes. I repeat to myself my own motivator: to be healthy, lifelong. emoticon

What is your motivation to exercise?

I have a similar motivation - that being healthy is the important thing, not rock hard abs. Lately a motivator for me is to have more energy, partly just to have more energy to exercise...more! Working out even a little bit every day always makes me energized and in turn makes me more motivated for the next workout.

I have heard about that one quite a bit, but never tried it. I agree! It's much more motivating to feel good and be happy than to impress other people with my (already) hot bod! emoticon
