Hey there.. I have news.. I've lost a total of 15 pounds. I've been struggling squeezing a pound here and there for so long. So it seemed that when I weighted in today.. and lost 1 more pound, I was happy of course..
But then sat down and calculated from my being weight It was a total of 15 pounds. Very hard earned 15 pounds lost. Being older (50's age group) and working full time.. This is not an excuse but more of why it is a bit tougher to lose the weight.
I'm now to the point, Not sure how to describe this but I have stuck to the weight and aerobic training enough to know that I needed this... I had become a couch potato last year.
NOW I know I need to hit the gym or do something moderately active to keep my body humming and strangely enough my brain humming. I paid for a trainer for 6 months. (expensive) but it really forced me to be consistent. when you are shelling out the $$$ you will do it. Before this I would go for 2-3 weeks.. then stop for months..
Now.. I know that when I have those days I think I don't want to.. I do it anyway. and I'm here to say. I am ALWAYS happy I went. I always feel better, than when I walked through those doors. Also if for some reason I let more than 2 days go by and not go...I feel out of sorts.
How has this improved my life? I can go about my daily chores.. not get tired. I feel stronger, and more flexible, and balanced. My family notice that I am more even in my temperament. I love feeling how my body feels when I push it.. It feels good to be a little sore the next day..
The next leg of this journey is to post and track my food.. I have joined weight watchers it has been two weeks.. now and have lost a few pounds since then... Thinking this is what I needed... the portion control and watching what I am eating. I had been so stagnated in my weight lost before this.. so this is the next step. who knows maybe I can hit my goal weight by june.. That would be so cool!
So for the next few months.. WW points tracking and I'm coming back to posting food here on sparks.. to see the calories going in.. and as usual my weight training and aerobics..
Thank you to sparks for being here and all the information and tools you have for us.
And a special thank you to my sparks friends who keep me going. WE are in this together and will continue to push forward in our goals!
