"I believe in God, but not as one thing, not as an old man in the sky.
I believe that what people call God is something in all of us."

John Lennon

Iwas at a meeting yesterday with about 300 people, the subject was future of our region and the methd was "open space" - poeple can tell what they want to discuss and there were all sorts of subject - local food, toruism, energy, cuture, education, infrasturcture, the good life... but nothing about spiritual things like God... so I went up to the bishop and asked him why not... and he had not really reacted because he was joining groups and passing on his opinions and did not fee any necessescity to talk about the church. In some weeks the cuhurch in our region will have a yearly event who is called "life worth living" and is a week with very interesting seminars, lectures discussions and performance, all aimed to exploring how we can live with a deppened spirituality. But this is not part of the future strategy...odd.

You're right, Meddy - it's striking in its omission... Even if there weren't specific details in this strategy or plan, how could the bishop (of all people) overlook the importance to people of a spiritual aspect to their lives?

Seems strange...

I think that it is dangerous to ignore spirituality. It means something different to everyone and each is right in their own way. But to ignore it will lead this world down a very sad path! Material things alone will never lead to happiness.

You are right... odd. Sometimes religion gets so watered down that it's really not much about God. Sad.

Weird. how can it not be a part of the strategy?
