How do you see yourself?

Friday, January 18, 2013

Sometimes we're so critical of ourselves. We can even be downright brutal. Let me ask you this: If your best friend told you on a daily basis that you were ugly, fat, grumpy, or [fill in the blank with a negative comment], would that person still be your best friend? Probably not!! I'd be telling her/him to take a hike!!

If you wouldn't let your best friend talk to you like that. Don't you talk to yourself like that!!

Stay positive. Practice positive self-talk. Every time you do some self-bashing, immediately apologize & replace the negative with something positive. If it helps, sit down & come up with a list of things that you like about yourself or that other people like about you & start with those.

Today, no [fill in your name] bashing!! God doesn't make junk! You are a precious person - you are beautiful!

Blessings to you!! emoticon emoticon

Read your blog right after reading about Cathy's incredible journey. I love the lady in the wheelchair. She reminds me that we can all transform ourselves, with a little time and imagination, into anything we choose to be.

Thanks.

Oh boy. This is an important one for me. I live in the eyes of others, even though i know this is completely counterproductive.

Thank you!

A friend of mine told me recently that I beat myself up more and harder than any of my critics. Her suggestion: picture holding a baseball bat in your hand, ready to strike. Then drop the bat and leave it behind.

So far, it's working!

Great points, but how could someone be a friend if they bullied you and were not good to you? And they were your best friend? I know you are just making a point. Some of us have people like this in our lives, but friends like this who needs enemies.
