I have terrible balance.
Did I learn this from Coach Nicole's Total Body Sculpting Barre Workout?
No, I've known this since childhood. I had a lot of ear infections as a child and it's thrown off my inner ear.
Balance is very useful during this workout, so they do it with a chair. Their chairs are decidedly less rickety than my cheap Ikea furniture. (I decided to spend most of my furniture on living room and bedroom furniture, since I spend like 5% of my day at the dining room table, but 33% of my day in bed and probably 12% of my day on the couch. Working on lessening that number btw.)
Aaaaanyway, the workout was fun! Coach Nicole is totally that girl-next-door who is super friendly and never ever makes you feel inferior. She's not totally ripped, but is instead slender and lean, more like what I would consider a 'normal' thin female. She looks good, but in no way do you ever feel that her body type is un-achievable.
None of the moves are overwhelming, although I also have lousy rhythm, so moves where I have to switch feet quickly throw me off. I found that for me if I focused on what THEY were doing when this happened, I screwed up, but when I thought about what I was doing, I did just fine.
I didn't do any of the jumps, because hey, it's 9:30 on a Thursday night and my downstairs neighbors leave for work when I get out of bed in the morning, so it would be rude!
I give the workout an A, and myself a B-, but it's only the first time doing it!
As for the rest of my day it went well. I clarified things with my boss and yes, he HAD meant the higher number I had on my brain, so that's good. I celebrated by ordering lunch with my coworker. I got a Mediterranean Greek salad with grilled chicken and Greek dressing on the side. It was yummy AND I tracked it and it was only 362 calories, dressing included! Too bad it cost me $10, lol. Oh well, that's the town where I work. I only buy lunch at work maybe once a month so I'm not all that worried, especially now that I have a raise.
What's the first thing we're going to do now that I have a raise?! OPEN A SAVINGS ACCOUNT!!! What's the second thing we're going to do?! BUY AN IRON BOARD THAT WILL ACTUALLY CLOSE SO WE CAN GET IT OUT OF OUR BEDROOM!

My husband is using our current one to avoid putting away all his clean clothes. (Side note: As a kid my dad made me iron all his handkerchiefs so I reaaaaally hate ironing. I probably would have hated it anyway. *shrug* I wear jeans 95% of the time, no ironing needed!)
The rest of the money is going towards polishing off some credit card debt, which will come off even faster if my hubby gets his promotion, which I'm pretty sure we won't know about until like, March.
Dinner tonight was Black Bean and Chicken Chilaquiles, which wound up being hilarious because I FORGOT TO BUY BLACK BEANS. I used roman beans and it was DELICIOUS. And very, very filling.
I didn't make 5000 steps today, but I have drunk 15 glasses of water to flush out some of the sodium.
Okay, I made this blog waaaaaaaaaay longer than I intended since I am hyper from working out. Time to wind down!
