Last night I was asked...

Thursday, January 17, 2013

how I eat, because she was surprised to hear my son has NEVER had McDonalds and we do not go to fast food places.
I suppose she was so surprised my son doesn't drink soda, because she's seen babies with soda in their bottles! (as have I, in a doctor's office no less~!)
I don't think she really wanted to know how I ate though, based on her responses each time I tried to tell her how I really ate.
She asked if I ate at restaurants. Yes, but I'm very careful about what I choose from the restaurant. She cut in though and I wasn't able to continue. This happened throughout the entire conversation. It turned out to be quite one sided. LOL
I think we are more of an anomaly to her. Welcome to the freak show. LOL

Wow, I'm eating healthier, but I have lots of friends that are probably doing a better job than me.

But I do know there are people out there that eat horrible

You need to tell her to watch that movie about 30 days on fast foods and ask her if she likes to be like that too. I wish that my children did not drink soda but they were introduced to it by his family and now that they are older they don't drink soda much. At least my son does not drink soda and don't know if my daughter still drinks soda. I stopped drinking it in 2005 and have not had one since.

Hahaha... I love that comment! "Welcome to the freak show." My brother used to bartend and says that all most people want is to be heard and very few know how to listen. My daughter (16) despises McDonald's and for the longest time she was the voice of reason in our house. My thinking on restaurants has become, "If we're going to actually pay someone else to fix our food, why not go for the quality stuff?" We deserve quality, right? You were willing to tell her about a better way of life and she just wasn't interested. Sad, but not your fault at all. You can't teach brick walls.
