I finally met that nutritionist!

Well, that day went weird. Before going to bed yesterday, I prepared my things to do some cardio before my appointment. Then, I tried to open my 5 year old Ipod... No success. It died.

How could I train without an mp3 player? I was obsessed with that =P And when I have an idea in mind, it won't get out of my head.

So okay, I bought a brand new Ipod Touch and spent a lot on it. I walked 40 minutes in my day for it (fast walking, couldn't be late for work!) then walked 20 minutes to go to the gym for the nutritionist. Then, I realized that maybe it would be a great idea not to do too much exercise at the beginning (well, I am back to the beginning, let's face it) and that 60 minutes of walking at a great pace is maybe enough for the day.

I was thrilled to meet my nutritionist and I learned a lot. Even though I know a lot of theory, putting it into practice every day is another challenge.

She told my that with my training, she expects me to have 120g of protein every day. 120g?!? It's hard for me to reach 60 or 70! This will definitively be a challenge. She gave me a lot of good hints for my nutrition, such to replace peanut butter on my toasts by egg whites with some grated cheese (less than 20% of fat).

If I look at my sheet right away (she wrote some notes for me), there is also greats cereals : Kashi Go Lean Crunchy. I never ate that.

Also, I switched to 1% milk last week but have an hard time since it tastes like water. I can cut it with 2% milk.

The thing that I thought was the weirdest is that I should have 2 portions of starches for every meal. That means 4 toasts for breakfast or lunch! I am wondering how I could not go over my my calories that way but I will wait for my next appointment - we will make a food plan.

I won't lie to you, my house is a mess right know but I'm so sleepy again!

I have to clean the house but it will be on the week-end. I'm meeting my trainer tomorrow and I really want to do a cardio training this time! And for this... I have to put music in my mp3 player =P So I'll try to write back tomorrow.

    Protein, Fiber, Iron and Calcium are all nutrients that I lack a lot of the time.

    I love Greek yogurt for protein and almonds. Music is a must when I workout I feel lost without it. I hope everything continues to go well with you on your journey. Keep up the great job! emoticon

    getting the protein is sometimes hard but it is true that eggs, turkey, chicken end protein shakes are good.

you can have a good salad with some seasoned chicken or turkey in it. It is a good meal.

    My mom also has problems with getting enough protein and eggs with cheese was also suggested. I like Kashi Go Lean cereal, but I don't eat cereal very often. Protein shakes are fairly good for getting that extra protein, but be careful of the side effects of each type of protein. I don't use them because I love my meat, so usually I get enough protein anyhow. Turkey can be upwards of 94% protein, and chicken and scallops right behind it.
You will have to careful though because extra protein mean extra calories as well.
