Motivation to exercise

I've found I've become really good at making excuses when it comes to exercise. What motivates you to hop on the treadmill? Will 50 minutes of fast walking be similar to a twenty minute jog? How long should I be on it too see maximum weight loss?

    So many things!
When I'm frustrated or upset old me would commiserate with my neighbors with beer and hookah. New me goes to the gym and RUNS. I run until I'm so focused on putting one foot in front of the other and feeling the burn in my legs that I've completely forgotten what I was upset about to begin with. And then I run a little more.
Eating right motivates me to exercise! I can't bring myself to spend a whole day eating healthily and then not go to the gym to back it up. It just seems like a waste. And vice versa as well. I think one without the other will maintain my weight, but that's not what I'm aiming for now.
Also, music! I lived in a fraternity in college and their dance parties are still some of my favorite memories. So I put on the music we played at parties (Think Cascada, LaBouche, Indian dance music), and get lost in memories of dancing the night away.
And I totally agree with BabyBright. Seeing those first pounds and inches come off just makes me want to keep at it!
As far as time, I'm not 100% sure how accurate the calorie counter on the treadmill is, but I go by it anyway, and I'm seeing results. But there's also something to be said for getting your heart rate up there and increasing your cardiovascular endurance as well as building awesome toned leg muscles. I don't think a walk will do that as well as the occasional run.
My advice, switch it up. Alternate running/walking days. And when you walk, do so on an incline. Then you'll feel the burn!

    Also a whole pan of tomato soup to soothe my itchies and burnies also helped out tons--when I get sick I crave tomato soup and salty crackers.

    I started out at ten mintues of wii fit per day and sometimes I do more and I've noticed a 2 inch chest loss! I had bras I outgrew that now just fit me perfectly fine.....I was busting out at the seams and now I'm at maximum capacity. I've got a cold and that two inch loss is what motivated me not to give up today and not take the day off like my hubby promised me I could. So I would say success is what drove me to do two hoolas and two basic steps today......
