Trying some new things to kinda spice up my look but I am self conscious and not sure if they are a good or bad look for me.

This one is me trying to poof my hair.

This is a new hat I bought a couple weeks ago but I haven't worn it out anywhere yet.

Thanks for the suggestions, but it it long due to religious beliefs so no wouldn't wanna cut it. when I was younger it was longer and down to my ankles but then I rebelled and fell out of church and had it cut so short that I had a stub for a ponytail . Hated it when it was short and would try anything to encourage it to grow. I have thought about a perm but that is a big chance cause for one if not done right it could be damaging and with my hair being thick there is always the chance that it wouldn't take the perm and if I spent all that money I would be sick if that happened.

Since you have your hair so long, I imagine you don't want to cut it off. I used to have really long hair about mid back when I was younger into my 20's. .But, finally took the plunge and cut it in a cute above shoulder style! Got tired of the care and it is so long it pulls it down and no style can done to it, at least won't stay for long. Ever thought of a perm or I think you might look good too with a short style! Go to a hair stylist and ask what style fits your face. I am thinking of perming my hair again, getting tired of the straight hair now. We always like change and it feels good to do so. Especially as you lose the weight-it is always fun to get all dolled up! emoticon emoticon

I feel like I always look so plain. Am trying to learn new styles but it is frustrating. My hair is thick and long (down to my butt). I tried scrunching it the other day but that was a total fail. Will have to take pics when I get my hair wavy after wearing it in several small braids.

Court - I don't think I can poof it on the sides. My hair is thick and hard to get it to poof. To get that little poof it took ALOT of hairspray.

emoticon Love the hat. I wear one for the sun. Can you poof your hair on the sides too? I have trouble doing mine. Do you use jell and hair spray?

You do really look cute in the hat. I was self conscious at first to start wearing a hat, but you get use to it and people get use to seeing you in it. Now I wear one everyday.

    Like the hat!

How does your hair look if you make the middle bit a bit wider?

Both are fine, but really, no one's opinion is more important than your own. Be yourself and you will look fine. emoticon

I think I would really like the hat with your hair down too.

I like them both! One thing I have learned first hand is that people who can pick out faults in the appearance of another are likely struggling with those faults themselves. So don't ever worry what anyone thinks of you, unless it is obviously not healthy (such as cleanliness, or lack of caring to ones self).

The hat works - and the hair is adorable!
