Well, here I go. I have never done this before, so we will see how it goes.

I have been using SparkPeople.com for a week now to track and manage my weight loss. As of yesterday morning I had lost 4 pounds of the 65-70 I had gained back in a very short period of time.

I am hoping 2013 is going to be a better year for us. 2012 had many ups and downs...way more downs than ups. Oldest child graduated from high school, started college, and was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune condition. He seems to be adjusting well and has great doctor. We are praying for remission. Younger child had emergency surgery to start off 2012, got her driver's license, and is driving 36 miles one way to school each day. We pray for her safety everyday. I had surgery for a torn rotator cuff, fell and got 2 new front teeth for Christmas, and now think I have separated the other shoulder...trudging on is the method of operation for me! Husband lost his job of 16 years, got a new one pay significantly less and with no benefits, and lost his father. He recently accepted a new job with benefits!!

Through it all we leaned on the merciful grace of God. This control freak had to let go and let God handle it all. I can say that it was the only way we survived 2012. I am resolved to lean on His saving grace everyday. Thank Him for the good and for the bad...it may not be so bad when you see the bigger picture.

It is my prayer that, this time, I keep the weight off. I need to be healthy for me and for my family. I need my energy back...I know what all is said about that dreaded loss of energy in your mid 40's and I need to have more than I have now.

I have decided that it makes no difference if anyone reads this or not. I think this is just a way for me to "get real" with myself!
